I made a trip up to New York City a couple weeks ago for an audition. It was a crazy bit of travel, several airplanes, buses, a subway and a taxi, but I finally made it to my destination. This was a trip for work, but it worked out so that my down time happened in a couple big chunks. Fortunately, the weather was nice enough that I could walk around and explore this city that I work in several times a year, but have not been able to sightsee in since childhood.
A week ago, I had an opportunity to experience yet another dose of Small Town America. This time, it was in the wilds of North Carolina and North East Kentucky. I was out with a stage show, and the local color that I witnessed with them in just a few days was amazing!

Yet again, I've picked up another hobby. One thing I have always wanted to try, until now, was longboarding. The grace with which these boards operate is much different than their shorter trick-centric cousins. Greater length, larger wheels, and more stability make them a coasting and carving machine!

This time, my adventures have taken me down another unexpected route. I have had the honor of being rehearsal pianist for the musical 'Chicago'. This run of it is being produced by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and it's being installed on the largest cruise ship in the world. It has been quite the experience.

This past weekend, I played a couple shows with Kerrie Roberts up in Virginia. Unbeknownst to us, the shows were in some really steep terrain in the heart of Virginia's coal country.
