Polar Adventures - The Journey Tour

Over the last month, I have learned what true cold feels like. The South has annoying cold. The Northeast has wet, snowy cold. Canada has ‘why would anyone live here’ cold. They speak fondly of their summer season, then in the same breath lament, that though it is magnificent, it is only 2 months long. In the last month I’ve experienced stunning mountains, frozen prairies, and temperatures the same as the surface of Mars. The Journey isn’t over yet!

Shakira - El Dorado World Tour

Wow! What a year it has been! I got the opportunity to see more of the world this year. Some places I had been before, but there were many new locations as well. For those that don’t know, I was the Programming Engineer for Shakira’s world tour, hence my absence in Nashville. Throughout the course of things, many new friends were made and adventures had. From touchy airport security, to questionable runners, there are more stories than can fit in one post.

That name cracks me up. ‘Spacebar’ is the tour industry term for the position of ‘Programming Engineer’. It is a massive oversimplification, while at the same time, if you do your job correctly, that is exactly all you do during the show. The dark side of the spacebar are the moments, always unexpected, where you keep the space ship from spinning out of control.
